Digital Content Creator
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a Digital Content Creator to join creative forces with TCDRS’ Communications team to help tell our members’ stories, motivate financial planning behaviors, educate to support sound benefit decision making, and promote services.
What you’ll do
- Create content for various audiences and across digital channels including email, social media, web articles, etc.
- Understand communication goals, key messages and general knowledge around benefits
- Draft original content for internal and external communications through researching and interviewing subject matter experts
- Collaborate with designers and other content creators to develop engaging visuals
- Assist with planning and development for TCDRS events including annual employer conference, staff meetings and learning initiatives
- Understand how to formulate a project plan, gather project requirements and deliver on tasks
- Incorporate edits and feedback using sound judgement
- Ensure content is consistent and within style guidelines
- Produce work that is error-free and with an appropriate tone, audience and channel
- Support other communication initiatives
- Support team with proofing and fact checking, publishing approved content and helping with other communication-related tasks as needed
- Assist with maintenance of existing assets including website, publications, presentations, account-based correspondence, etc.
- Drive new ideas and creativity
- Participate in idea sessions, content discussions and communication planning efforts
- Use problem solving and creativity skills to assess situations, evaluate options and recommend solutions
- Present ideas with confidence
- Look for opportunities to expand and improve on writing capabilities
- Use feedback from stakeholders to sharpen writing skills
- Seek opportunities for training and development
What you should have
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field
- 1–5 years of digital content writing, working under deadlines
- Natural curiosity and passion for storytelling
- Ability to think creatively and translate ideas into actionable plans
- Analytical skills to measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives
- Experience with the following technologies a plus:
- Graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Website content management such as Episerver
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or other marketing automation tool)
- Photography and video editing experience a plus
- Social media including Facebook and Instagram as well as scheduling and monitoring tools
- Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
