We are looking for an Enterprise Data Architect to help us with an enterprise business intelligence solution, data modeling, and data analytics. As a lead architect, you will construct a comprehensive business intelligence solution while applying architecture principles and business objectives to develop appropriate technologies. You will lead a team of six technical resources and collaborate with application architects, business resources, management, and technical consultants.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, design, devise and implement new enterprise data warehousing and data analytics solutions.

  • Design and document architecture models and specifications that support enterprise data management strategies and key stakeholder requirements.

  • Spearhead business and technical requirements, develop and implement data models and structures for new data warehouse and data mart projects, lead data analytics and business intelligence systems and maintain existing data models and data architectures.

  • Determine database requirements by analyzing business operations, applications and data sources. Implement corresponding database changes and objects to support modified applications.

  • Identify appropriate data sourcing and extraction processes and determine systems of record for data usage in varying applications. Apply data integration tools such as SSIS and API management and leverage ETL and ELT development techniques to create business intelligence models from data sources.

  • Apply architectural design and data platform delivery in technologies that include ETL, data storage, data modeling, APIs and automation.

  • Utilize IT processes and frameworks including Master Data Management, Identity Access Management, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Reporting. Apply data virtualization technology to achieve stakeholder objectives.

  • Provide architectural expertise on strategic initiatives, make recommendations for technology solutions that support enterprise roadmaps and track projects to ensure design principles are executed.

  • Oversee data quality cycles, database DevOps and data integrations with external data sources.

  • Retain responsibility for pension system SQL databases, associated database objects, complex financial calculations, SSIS packages, SSRS reports and enterprise database functionality, optimization and security.

  • Develop modeling governance and data warehouse guidelines to support design standards for creating data models and assess the impact of changes to technical enterprise applications.

  • Provide data architecture guidance leveraging Software Development Lifecycles and Agile project methodologies.

  • Develop strategies and design patterns to solve complex technical and data challenges and leverage data to provide value-added personalized customer experience.

  • Train, coach and supervise team, and increase team knowledge to support future growth.

  • Engage with business stakeholders across the TCDRS organization to understand business goals and deliver thought-leadership of specific technologies.

What you should have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications and experience in computer information systems, computer science, management information systems or related field.

  • Minimum five years of experience with full life cycle development, architecture and implementation of an enterprise data warehouse solution.

  • Experience with enterprise information management processes and methodologies, relational database management systems and SQL expertise.

  • Experience with dimensional modeling and design for data warehouse development.

  • Ability to translate business requirements, data analytics and visualization needs to technical solutions.

  • Experience with Agile project methodology.

  • Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, prioritize and execute tasks.

  • Ability to deliver high quality and value products for internal and external customers while keeping abreast of new technologies and trends.
