Staff Accountant
What we need
We are looking for conscientious, focused and professionally motivated employees to join our Finance team. A passion for helping others and a love of numbers is a must. The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing a biweekly payroll for 135 employees, along with monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reporting, 941 tax deposits, and bank reconciliations. Weekly and monthly 945 tax deposit calculations, along with assisting with daily and monthly cash management.
What you’ll do

Prepare biweekly payroll processing (file maintenance, calculating, uploading direct deposit, 457 tracking, paid time off hours reconciliation). Transmit direct deposit and 457 plan data electronically

Update salary budget-to-actual report. Prepare payroll tax EFTPS. Prepare monthly payroll reporting

Download monthly health insurance reporting. Prepare and reconcile monthly health insurance and cafeteria plan reports and process electronic payments

Prepare quarterly federal and state payroll reporting

Prepare annual group-term life calculations and W-2/W-3 forms

Responsible for daily cash reconciliation (alternating weekly with other Staff Accountant). Reconcile previous day activity. Update Cash Book

Prepare bank reconciliations

Monthly journal entries and account reconciliations

Transmit monthly retirement EFT file
-
Special projects and ad hoc reporting upon request
What you should have
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- 3+ years of payroll experience
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with mid-market payroll system; prefer ADP
- Experience with mid-market accounting/Enterprise Resource Planning system; prefer Microsoft Dynamics GP and BI360 financial reporting software
