BUSINESS ANALYST


The Business Analyst defines and documents requirements for data, workflow and logical processes.  In addition, this position will prepare and present requirements or process models to elicit, test, and explain requirements; work with clients to define the logical data diagrams for new and enhanced systems; and work with users to determine computer system requirements and document them for use by software developers and testers. Finally, the Business Analyst consults with clients to prototype, refine, and test and debug applications to meet business needs and establishes and maintains software development risk analysis and mitigation plans.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with internal clients to define and document requirements for workflow, logical processes and data design.
  • Create and review requirement specifications, business processes, training documentation, and recommendations for proposed solutions. 
  • Create, maintain, and report status for project plans and schedules.
  • Communicate and apply project standards and manage resources in accordance with project schedules.
  • Ensure all requirements are met through detailed test script creation, facilitation of integration testing and user acceptance testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related fields
  • 3+ years in a software development environment
  • Advanced business analysis
  • Reporting analysis, design and documentation
  • Business Intelligence experience preferred
  • .NET applications experience preferred
  • Prefer background in financial or retirement industry

MEMBER SERVICES FIELD REPRESENTATIVE


The Member Services Field Representative is responsible for benefit education of our members through group presentations and individual benefit counseling sessions at the member’s place of employment. The nature of this position requires extensive travel in Texas with extended periods of time away from home.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site presentations to educate and communicate with our members.
  • Provide individual retirement benefit counseling.
  • Weekly travel by car and plane with frequent overnight stays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in teaching, sales, training, or public speaking. Prefer experience in health, life, or disability insurance, retirement plans or other employee benefits.
  • Outstanding speaking and presentation skills, outgoing personality, ability to relate quickly to diverse audiences. Interpersonal skills necessary to listen empathetically, deal effectively and professionally while conveying courtesy, enthusiasm, patience and confidence with all customers.
  • Advanced analytical, written, and verbal skills; advanced skills in Windows based technology systems.

BENEFITS ANALYST


We are seeking a Member Benefits Analyst who will process all core benefits work in an accurate and timely manner, including retirement, disability and survivor benefits, account updates and withdrawal payments. The Member Benefits Analyst is required to demonstrate competency in the following areas: termination of membership, special credits, benefit calculations, benefit eligibility, distribution of benefits, plan options, tax issues, and TCDRS governing law and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process and/or quality check service and disability retirement applications and generate estimates of retirement benefits.
  • Process survivor benefits for members or payees of TCDRS.
  • Process withdrawal requests for members of TCDRS. Determine and assess eligibility factors and IRS requirements.
  • Review and approve all necessary documents required to process account changes for members, retirees, and beneficiaries of the system.
  • Determine payment status and process replacement checks for members and retirees.
  • Use sound judgment when processing benefits and recognize exception cases. Bring problems forward to the team for resolution. Recommend changes to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Written and verbal communication with plan administrators, members, and beneficiaries regarding benefit eligibility, account changes, payment disbursement, taxation issues, and documentation requirements.
  • Be a team player. Analyst must promote teamwork and communicate effectively with all team members (share knowledge, work with team members to resolve problems and develop solutions).
  • Evaluate and prioritize workflow based on deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Four years of work experience with above average analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate skills in general windows-based technology systems, including Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate to advanced level of written, analytical, and verbal skills.
  • Candidate must be an independent thinker, have good time management skills, and the capability to effectively prioritize and evaluate situations.
