Senior Content Strategist
What we need
We’re seeking a skilled writer, strategic thinker and creative content leader to drive high-impact storytelling across multiple audiences and communication channels. As the Senior Content Strategist, you’ll own our editorial voice and play a key role in connecting with our members, employers, retirees, internal staff and board of trustees through compelling, timely and engaging e-newsletters and digital content.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and storytelling, is highly organized and is a master at coordinating content development and distribution. You’ll also build content strategies that deepen trust, enhance engagement and personalize our audience’s experience.
You understand how to tailor messages that support decision-making across complex audiences and believe deeply in the power of human-centered communication in a digital world.
What you’ll do

Lead newsletter strategy, including planning and personalization across audience groups:

Members at all career stages

Retirees

Employers (administrators and decision-makers)

Serve as the editorial “editor-in-chief” for content across the team — ensuring consistency, clarity and strategic alignment

Write or refine key content, including retirement updates, executive communications and member stories

Use AI tools to support content development — while ensuring a high-integrity human voice

Collaborate with our digital and data strategists on content production and distribution using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ensuring emails are well-designed, audience-specific and delivered on time

Partner with our data strategist to review performance and optimize based on behavior, sentiment and engagement trends

Identify content gaps and proactively develop strategies to support organizational goals and audience needs

Work closely with the brand strategist and digital production team on creative development, including visuals and mixed media, to enhance engagement and reinforce messaging

Collaborate with the team to repurpose content across channels (web, social media, etc.) and support broader campaign efforts

Contribute to related projects, including updating web content, creating presentations, supporting brainstorming sessions and assisting with strategic content planning
What you should have

A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, English or a related field

5+ years of experience in content strategy, audience engagement, editorial or digital communications
-
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to frame stories for impact and strategic purpose

Experience developing newsletter or email campaigns within platforms like Salesforce
-
Proficiency in or curiosity about using AI for content creation and insights
-
Comfort collaborating across creative, technical and strategic teams
-
Familiarity with the financial services industry or communicating complex topics to general audiences is a plus
-
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

A creative eye for design and experience developing visual and mixed media content
-
A collaborative spirit, curiosity and a passion for creating content that informs, engages and supports key audiences
