Staff Accountant II
What we need
We are looking for a conscientious, focused and professionally motivated employee to join our Finance team. A passion for helping others and a love of numbers is a must. The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for 150 employees, performing daily cash management and various accounting functions throughout the close cycle, as well as assisting with the annual forecasting and budgeting process.
What you’ll do

Prepare biweekly payroll processing in ADP and electronically transmit 457 plan contributions

Quarterly verification of 941s filed by ADP on behalf of TCDRS via the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS)
-
Reconcile monthly health insurance and cafeteria plan reports and process electronic payments
-
Prepare monthly payments of retiree health insurance premiums
-
Prepare bi-monthly electronic claims payments to two self-insured medical reimbursement plans

Review weekly claim file from the third-party administrator and reconcile monthly employee balances in the Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)

Record in Microsoft Dynamics GP weekly A/P transactions and monthly financials provided by TCDRS’ Property Manager

Daily cash book maintenance and treasury management, including applying employer payments in Microsoft Dynamics GP and preparing wire transfers based on collateral analysis

Prepare journal entries and perform bank and account reconciliations

Transmit monthly retirement EFT file and make 945 payments in EFTPS

Download quarterly Texas Workforce Commission statements, review and make payment

Calculate and record annual Paid Time Off and Year-End Payroll accruals

Special projects and ad hoc reporting upon request
What you should have
-
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience

Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel

3+ years of accounting experience
-
3+ years of payroll experience
-
Experience with mid-market payroll system; prefer ADP
-
Experience with mid-market accounting/Enterprise Resource Planning system; prefer Microsoft Dynamics GP and BI360 financial reporting software
