Survivor Benefits for TCDRS Beneficiaries
We know that losing a loved one is difficult. TCDRS is there for you every step of the way to help make the benefits process go as smoothly as possible.
When a TCDRS member passes away TCDRS reaches out to the member’s beneficiaries and informs them of the available benefits.
Applying for Benefits
We will contact you by email or mail with details about your benefit options and to start the application process. You can apply for survivor benefits online or over the phone.
When you apply for survivor benefits online, you can view your benefit options and payment detail, and monitor your application progress.
Processing the Application
If we need additional information, we will contact you. Keep an eye out for communications from TCDRS while your application is being processed. We will send you final confirmation when the application is finalized.
Our Member Services Representatives are here to help you through the process and to answer any questions you may have. Call 800-823-7782 if you need any assistance.
