Bee Cave Bob Does it Again
On Facebook, we asked who thought we would get an early spring or a longer winter. Here’s what you predicted!
By Samantha Clark
While the rest of the United States may listen to a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil for weather predictions, deep in the heart of Texas, we side with the meteorologically attuned armadillo, Bee Cave Bob.
Prior to the February 2 event at West Pole Ranch in Bee Cave, Texas, we asked our Facebook followers to chime in with their predictions. Would Bee Cave Bob give us six more weeks of winter, or was it time for spring?

To the delight of onlookers, Bob signaled for an early spring by circling a slab of concrete painted like a highway without spotting his shadow. Texas’s Bee Cave Bob and Punxsutawney Phil don’t always see eye to eye on weather predictions, but this year, it seems they found common ground. And it looks like they were right, as the wildflowers were already blooming by late February.
