Helping Employees Retire, One Benefit Packet at a Time
Our employers are passionate about helping their employees prepare for retirement, and Collin County is no exception. Supporting around 1,800 active employees, HR Generalist Angie Hoesing and her team have worked out a seamless system to support their employees from hire to retire.

Out of Collin County’s 24 employees in the HR department, four of them handle the benefits for the whole county.
When an employee has decided to retire, they will reach out to that employee and provide them with a packet ahead of time to go over their insurance, TCDRS account and the benefits Collin County provides its retirees.
“We make a big point of getting beneficiaries set up to make sure their money is going where they want it to,” Angie says, adding that getting exiting employees registered at TCDRS.org is another main focus for her team.
Once registered, employees can use the benefit estimator tool in their online TCDRS accounts, which Angie says has been especially useful for helping members see what their TCDRS payments might be under different benefit selections.
Being able to use TCDRS Member Services as a resource has been a highlight of Angie’s experience working with the system. “We have other benefits that we use vendors for, and I can’t count on them like I can count on TCDRS,” she says. “I can give an employee a TCDRS phone number and know they’re going to get help. That’s something that takes the weight off our shoulders.”
If your exiting employees have any questions about their TCDRS accounts, please have them reach out to TCDRS Member Services at 800-823-7782. We are here to help!
